It seems that as a New Years gift Google has updated the Page Rank. Now it has been established that Page Rank is not the only thing one should consider when on the topic of SEO. There are many other factors such as content, keywords, and relevance that will affect where your page appears in a search engine. But it’s somewhat of a nice New Year’s day surprise to find that your site has jumped a few notches in the where Page Ranking is concerned.

In the case of GemGfx, we are now a 4/10 page rank and we’re comfortable with that. Bur we have had a pretty good positioning in all search engines even before we got this update. If you look for the term “Graphic Design Outsourcing Trinidad and Tobago”, we’re number one in the results in Google, Yahoo and even Ask.com. For the term “Graphic Design Outsourcing”, we’re in the first five results on Google. Again, we had this before we got the page rank update, so yes page rank is nice, but it’s not the most important thing for SEO and one should always remember that.

Or if you’re using Firefox or Explorer, you can download Google’s toolbar here and enable the page rank feature. Google appears to update their page rank about four times a year, so look for another update in the next couple of months.
