Website Submissions for Habesha Style

Introduction
As promised, these are the new website template samples for the online clothing store. Keeping in mind the concept behind the logo and your client market, and your request for a modern look. It is important that I mention here, that these are just samples, and should be considered as such. They are not the final product, and nothing is etched in stone. These are designed to give an idea of what the final product will look like. Once you decide upon a template, you will be able to modify that template to bring it to the final product. Read More

Branding and Website Design Submissions for FOBA:

Introduction:
Following up the proposal for the provision of a new website and brand, the following are submissions, for your consideration, of the future Brand and Website Design of the Fatima Old Boys Association. These submissions constitute the substance of Phase 1 of this project. Which is the process of Brand Development. Constructing the look and feel of the visual communication tools of FOBA. The purpose of these drafts are to give a general idea of what the finished product would look like and should NOT be viewed as the finished product.
From these samples will be chosen one sample that will be modified until the brand is settled upon. After phase 1 is completed then we can move on to Phase 2, which would be the actual development of the website. Your input and comments are welcomed, and there is a place at the end of the presentation for you to leave the comments. Feel free to be open and leave your constructive comments.
Regards,
Everard
First Step:
The first thing I did was make a small modification to the logo. It is good practice when developing a logo to ensure that it will work well when reproduced across several media. In this case the logo needs to be applied to business cards, letterheads, and web pages. This means the logo need to be reduced. When reduced, the words of the current FOBA logo are not visible. The simple solution is to create a version of the logo with the words off to the side. I put forward two options of this. One with the word “Fatima” prominent and the words “Old Boys Association” in a small font beneath (Fig.1) and the second option the initials “F.O.B.A” prominently displayed and the words “Fatima Old Boys Association” beneath that (Fig.2). I used the latter for the samples.

I used the latter for the samples.
Second Step:
The next thing I needed to do was decide upon which colors I was going to use. This was a fairly easy task as Fatima’s colors have always been the Blue and Yellow. The task now would be how to best translate those colors into a brand. What follows are my humble attempts to do this.
Third Step:
The third thing I needed to do, was zero in on a. What it is the Brand needed to communicate, and b. Who the brand needed to communicate to. I envisioned the Brand communicating to corporations as well as communities. Current as well as past Fatima students. Communicating Tradition, Excellence, Professionalism, Achievement, Family. To do this a delicate balance would have to be achieved a true task indeed.
Now to the submissions
First Submission:
For the first submission as with all, I used the blue and yellow with yellow as the dominant color. I dealt with the business cards and letterheads first, and then translated the design onto the website. The stationery of necessity could not be to flamboyant. However, the website allows for the use of images etc, so I could do a bit more. I used an image of the school in the header and placed the links next to it. The Logo is also highly visible as it should be. This would be the first thing visitors see when they log on to the website. Let me know your thoughts on this one.

Second Submission
For the second submission, I reversed the colors, and made the blue the more dominant color. While gold is a rich color, it does not work well on the net and is actually hurtful to the eyes if it is too prominent. So for that reason I switched the colors in the second option. Also for the website I made it more information based. As you can see there is a lot more text than images. This might be the rout to go if it is an information type site. Most of the information visitors are looking for would be on the first page. Or if not, there would be a snippet of it and a link to where they can find the rest.

This option works well both for the stationery as well as the website.
Third Submission:
For the third submission, I struck sort of a balance between the two colors. Neither color overpowers the other. For both the stationery and the website, the balance creates a complementary environment for both colors. For the website, It gives it a very professional look. This option is actually the one that I would strongly put my recommendation behind. I really like the balance.
Basically what needs to be done now, is to say which one or which elements of either of the three most catches your attention. Or which one most gives you the feeling or communicates to you Fatima College as you would like it to be known. You do not have to choose only one, you can Identify your likes and dislikes of all three and by putting the likes together we can come up with a final working brand.
As I said, once this phase is completed, we can begin the construction of the website and take it from there.
Ok gentlemen, I know most of you are saying “Everard give we a book to read”, and for this I apologize, just take comfort in the knowledge that the presentation was longer and I trimmed it down a bit.
I look forward to your comments.

3D Graphics
3d Graphics
Author: Priyanshu Malhotra
3D Graphics is also known as 3D models. It involves the creation, display and manipulation of the objects in the three dimensions. 3D CAD and 3D graphics programs enable the objects to be produced on the X (Width)-Y (Height)-Z (Depth) scale.
The process of creating 3D computer graphics can be divided into three basic phases:
- 3D Modeling: It exemplifies the process of shaping the object.
- Layout and Animation: It provides the details regarding the motion and placement of objects.
- 3D Rendering: It gives out an image of the object.
3D graphics are produced by means of graphic art, digital computers and 3D software. Objects can be turn around and seen from all directions. Besides this, it can be scaled larger or smaller. They also flash lighting in the rendering phase.
Renovating information of 3D objects into a bit map is termed as rendering, and necessitates significant memory as well as processing power. Initially, 3-D graphics are obtained only on potent workstations, but now, things have been changed drastically, as 3D graphics accelerator are now commonly found in a personal computer. The graphics accelerator encloses memory and a specialized microprocessor on the way to take upon several 3D rendering operations.
3D graphics are well-liked & accepted on the Application programming interface (API) concept because it is very easy to perform on that. Computer games are found very commendable in 3D computer graphics. As computer games are placed in a personal computer, it is termed as a video game.

Graphic Design Brief Preperation
How To Prepare An Effective Design Brief For Graphic Design Projects
Author: graphic design Melbourne
A thoroughly prepared client brief is half the success of a rebranding or design project. Attaining all the necessary and relevant information from the client and a comprehensive insight into the client’s brand provides you with a great foundation for the right brand identity and design solution.
As a designer or brand consultant, a properly prepared client brief gives multiple sources of ideas to work with. Unless you have a clear understanding of what the client wants and needs you waste your time trying to design something out of nothing and the client ends up spending more money than budgeted for as a result of the required modifications…which naturally makes both parties very happy….
Depending on the particular project you will need a specific design brief. That means if you are developing a website or creating a business card, the client design brief will be different. However, there is some general information about your company and what you want to achieve, which should give a good idea in any design situation. Here are some general questions that will help me and fellow designers and consultants:
- 1. Title
- 2. What is the nature of your business? What does your business do?
- 3. What is your target market?
- a. Age
- b. Sex
- c. Income
- d. Occupation
- e. Location
- 4. What is unique about your business or product?
- 5. Who is your competition?
- 6. What is your aim? What are your goals?
- 7. How do you want your clients to feel about the brand? What is the message you want to communicate?
- 8. What is your budget? Range?
- a. Providing a rough guide enables the consultant/designer with an idea of the type of marketing and design solution that can be provided to you.
- 9. What is your deadline?
- 10. Provide the designer with current and past design and marketing materials.
